BRIGHTON TARGET RETURN TO WINNING WAYS

Brighton and Hove Albion have the longest winless run in the Premier League at the moment ahead of their home clash with newly promoted team Brentford on Boxing Day. Brighton are now without a win in eleven (11) games in the league and eight of those games have ended in a draw. The Seagulls have eight draws and three defeats from their last eleven (11) games in the Premier League since the 2-1 home win over Leicester City in September.

Seagulls boss Graham Potter began the season well as he led his team to the top four places on the Premier League table but their lengthy winless run has seen them drop into the bottom half of the table with a total of 20 points from 16 league games. As things stand, Brighton have seven more points than Burnley in the third and final spot in the Premier League relegation zone. The Clarets have played one more game than the Seagulls. Burnley have 13 points from 15 games.

The Boxing Day clash with the Bees at home gives the Seagulls the perfect platform to take the three points on offer. They have already beaten Brentford in September thanks to the late goal from Belgian star Leandro Trossard. Trossard scored the only goal of the game in added time to lead the Seagulls to a 1-0 away win. The win over Brentford was their penultimate victory in the league till date.

Their last league win at home to the Foxes came immediately after the away win over the Bees.

For Brentford, they come into their latest league clash with Brighton on the back of the West London Derby loss at the hands of Chelsea. An own goal from club skipper Pontus Jansson and a Jorginho penalty within five minutes was all that was needed for Chelsea to seal a 2-0 away win and move into the CarabaoCup last four.
