Various reports in the media claimed that Arsenal are closing in on the £50m signing of England international White from Brighton. Sky Sports reporter DhameshShethconfirmed those reports as he said that the Gunners will pay £50m for the Seagulls central defender without any add-ons. Sheth also said that Brighton have inserted a sell-on clause in the deal that would take White to Arsenal.

Ex-Leeds United and Manchester City defender Mills spoke to TalkSports about England international White and his imminent move to Arsenal. Mills is surprised that only the Gunners made a move to sign a quality player like White. According to him, he expected the likes of Manchester United to sign him.

Mills is of the opinion that the player would struggle to win major trophies at a club like Arsenal and that the Brighton defender is better than the Gunners.

England player White spent one season in the Brighton squad before the Gunners swooped in on him this summer. It has been reported that White will undergo his medical at Arsenal when he returns from his holiday next week. His move to Arsenal would be finalised once medical and paperwork has been sorted.

Brighton and Hove Albion player White was a regular for Graham Potter’s team last season. He made 36 appearances for the Seagulls in the Premier League last season as his team ended the campaign in 16th place on the table.

White started his holiday last week as he has been with the England squad at the Euro 2020 tournament. The potential Arsenal signing didn’t feature at all as England reached the final of the tournament. The Italians emerged winners via penalties at the expense of White and his teammates.
