There was a point in time when Brighton & Hove Albion was positioned in the very top of the English League Championship and looked like the team to beat of this football division. This was back in November of 2015 but they went through a slump of disappointing results in December where the team of Chris Hughton was simply not able to win any single match and have dropped a few spots in the 2nd tier English League.
The slump that Brighton & Hove Albion went through in December of 2015 saw them playing a total of 6 league matches and Chris Hughton’s team only managed to win 1 while losing 2 games and drawing the remaining 3 matches.
Chris Hughton is still aiming to secure a promotion spot that would allow his team to compete in the upcoming Premier League season and in order to get back to the top spots, the head chiefs of the club have given Hughton an undisclosed amount of money so that he can sign top players in the winter transfer window and reinforce his squad.
The manager of Brighton & Hove Albion has not wasted any time in this winter transfer window as he has already added a player to his squad. A few days ago it was confirmed that the 24 year old midfielder Anthony Knockaert was signed on an undisclosed fee as Chris Hughton is acting fast in his journey of reinforcing his team and getting back to the top of the English League Championship.
Hughton is also attempting to sign David Cotterill from Birmingham City and he is even believed to be prepared on offloading £1million in order to trigger the release clause of the 28 year old Welsh winger and lure him into the Falmer Stadium. Another section that Chris Hughton wants to reinforce is the attacking department and he is rumored to be searching around the transfer market for a new forward.
