Bruno and Gordon Greer are some of the more experienced players in the entire squad of Brighton & Hove Albion as they both are 34 years old but even with this fairly elevated age both players have extended their contract deals with the club for one more year.
“Gordon and Bruno are two important players for us. They have great quality and experience and bring a great deal to the squad in terms of their leadership on and off the pitch. Gordon has proved to be a great captain for this club. He works hard and is a key player for us.Bruno has great quality on the ball and has shown he is capable of producing that when playing in several different positions.” The coach of Bright & Hove Albion, Sami Hyypia said.
Both defenders are consistent players for Sami Hyypia and have proven to be important figures in the Championship League club.
The future of those defenders is secure in the English club but the same cannot be said for the coach, Sami Hyypia as there are reports and rumors that are claiming Tim Sherwood to be the next coach of Brighton & Hove Albion if things do not change soon.
Starting from November until December 12, Brighton & Hove Albion have only managed to pick up one victory. In that time period there have been a total of 7 league matches played and only one of them finished in a victory.
This string of draws and defeats has led the Championship League club to the bottom relegation zone and unless things don’t start to change, the future of Sami Hyypia at the English club is in jeopardy.
“If I didn’t think I could turn the season around I would walk away. I’m still here and I intend to be in training on Monday and then we continue.”
The former Liverpool defender admits that any decision is out of his hands after a record of one win in 16 games.I have no fear and I think that’s quite normal in football. I know our series is not nice to see but that’s football, that’s business.” Sami Hyypia said as he displayed his confidence with the club even with all of the latest negative results and despite all of the rumors that have been linking him away from the Championship League club.
