The 24 years old midfielder of Brighton Liam Bridcutt has handed in a transfer request as he wants to depart the club. Sunderland has been interested in signing Bridcutt for some time now and have already made an offer of £2.5million to sign him up and bring him to the Premier League as Gus Poyet is hopeful that the midfielder can spark new life into the team and help them avoid the bottom relegation zone.
Bridcutt was left out during Brighton’s 1-0 triumph against Birmingham but according to the head coach of the club, Oscar Garcia the only reason he was not featured in the match was because of his injury and not because of any problems he has with the player who is currently unhappy at the club.
“He is still carrying a groin problem and is not 100 per cent fit. He is a Brighton player and he will be available for selection when he is 100 per cent.”
Burnley Football Club have confirmed the signing of Brighton’s Ashley Barnes as the player signed a contract that will be seeing him play at his new club for 3 and a half years. Barnes is the 1st signings of the January transfer window of Sean Dyche.
Ashley Barnes joined Brighton back in 2010 where he made over 140 appearances for the Championship club and scored 42 league goals. He began his playing career at the local club of his hometown Paulton Rovers, the place where he managed to standout and after making a successful trial run with Plymouth Argyle he signed an 18 month contract that saw him playing with the club up until 2007.
He concluded the season of 2010-11 as the 2nd top scorer for Brighton scoring 20 goals in 49 appearances but his current campaign saw him taking a significant drop of form as he only managed to score 6 goals in 24 matches but it was still enough for him to get signed for Burnley who are expecting great things out of him.
