BOURNEMOUTH NEXT

Brighton & Hove Albion will take on AFC Bournemouth in a Championship game at Dean Court Ground on Saturday. It will be the 17th Championship game for the Seagulls in the ongoing season. Out of their 16 games so far, they have won 6, have lost 4 and the remaining 6 have ended in the form of draws. Presently, they are at the 9th position in the Championship points table with 24 points.

As far as Bournemouth is concerned, they have also played as many Championship games as Brighton in this season, but, their winning percentage is not as high as the Seagulls. They have secured just 5 victories and have suffered 8 defeats. They have got only 18 points at the moment and have been placed at no. 16 in the points table.

If we compare the recent performances of the two sides, it’s again Brighton whose numbers look better. Out of their last 5 games, the Seagulls have secured a total of 11 points with 3 wins and a couple of draws. On the other hand, Bournemouth has managed to secure just 2 points out of their last 5 games.

The start of the 2013-14 Season hadn’t been that impressive for Brighton. They had won just 3 out of their first 13 games, but, they have shown big improvements of late especially in their defence. They have just conceded 2 goals in their last 5 games.

For Bournemouth, it’s the other way around. They had actually started the season quite well with a couple of impressive wins over Leeds United and Newport County respectively, but, they couldn’t continue putting up the same kind of performances in the following games.

On the basis of current form and the resources that the two sides possess, it’s Brighton which is the favourite to win this game.
