ALL FOR PRIDE

Representing the Three Lions at the international level is actually a very difficult job. You can feel the heat even if you are a young gun. You are scrutinized by a huge number of people all the time and you end up receiving criticism for each and every failure.

Jack Wilshere is one of those players who got the opportunity to make his debut for the Three Lions at a very young age. He was just 19 years of age when he put on the England shirt for the first time.

The midfielder burst onto the scene in an emphatic style. His performance in his first few international matches was extraordinary and that brought praise from everywhere. He was soon started being considered as the next big thing in English football, but, as happens in the career of every young player, the ups and downs came in Wilshere’s career too. He has dealt with some really difficult times since his international debut.

Currently, the 22 years old playmaker is out of action because of a severe foot injury. He is recovering well from that, but, there are very little chances of him making it to the England squad for the World Cup.

Wilshere talked to a website yesterday about the pressure which the England players have to deal with during their career. He said, “Look pressure is everywhere, no matter which country you are playing for. Yes, in England, it’s a bit more, but, you’ve just got to cope with it if you have to be successful. Your performances will always be assessed in the media and you will have to take both the plaudits and the criticism in your stride.”

Wilshere has so far played 15 matches for England, but, he is yet to score any goal.
